The Union Home Minister Shri Rajnath Singh visited Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) headquarters today and reviewed the operational achievements and the working of the force.
CRPF screened a documentary film highlighting the role of the force at different places and also made a detailed presentation to the Home Minister.
The operational matters and achievements of the force in Left Wing Extremism affected states, J&K and North East were the main highlights. The Union Home Minister was also apprised about the CAPF personnel martyred in operations, weapons and explosives recovered, IEDs and communication issues and challenges faced in the LWE affected states. On the administrative front, CAPF highlighted the issues like restructuring of the force, training and rotational policies of the posting.
The Minister asked the senior officers of the Force to attend to the concerns of their personnel in a friendly manner while ensuring discipline in the force. He said that the Force personnel should always remain motivated.
Shri Rajnath Singh assured that the demand for higher allowances in the LWE area would be considered on priority. He said that he will take-up theses issues with the Ministry of Finance and the MHA will support these issues. The Minister assured the CRPF that all efforts will be made for providing better housing and medical facilities to CAPFs personnel. He assured them that the communication towers will be setup in the LWE states on priority.
The Union Home Minister, while appreciating the role played by CRPF in Internal Security of the country, said that the force is ‘Prahari’ of democracy and the government and the country is always standing behind them. The Minister wished all success to the CRPF and saluted the force for its bravery.
