Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh has expressed profound grief over the untimely demise of internationally acclaimed shooter and coach Jaspal Rana.
In a condolence message on ‘X’, Shri Rajnath Singh said that Jaspal Rana was not only an outstanding athlete and coach but also a humble and compassionate individual. He noted that Jaspal Rana made immense contributions towards popularising shooting as a sport in India and inspiring generations of young sportspersons.
Paying tribute to his illustrious sporting career, the Raksha Mantri said that Jaspal Rana brought laurels to the nation through his exceptional achievements on the international stage, including gold medal-winning performances at the World Shooting Championships and the Asian Games. His accomplishments significantly strengthened India’s standing in the field of shooting sports.
Describing his demise as a great loss to the Indian sporting fraternity, Shri Rajnath Singh conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, friends and admirers of the departed sportsperson.
“Jaspal Rana brought glory to India through his remarkable achievements and dedicated service to the sport. His contributions to Indian shooting will always be remembered,” the Raksha Mantri said.
