No Place for Violence in Democracy, Says Shri Rajnath Singh
Union Home Minister Shri Rajnath Singh has ruled out negotiations with any group indulging in violence. Attending the concluding ceremony of the 19th National Youth Festival in Guwahati today, Shri Rajnath Singh called upon the youth to wipe out violence from the country. He also said that there is no place for violence in democracy.
Shri Singh urged the sportspersons to campaign to eradicate the drugs menace. The Home Minister said that the government has taken various steps to create employment opportunities. He said that the Centre and state governments would work in cooperation to provide employment to the youth. Paying tributes to Swami Vivekananda, the Home Minister remembered him as the source of inspiration for the youth of the entire world.
Shri Rajnath Singh said that nobody can disconnect North East from rest of India. The Home Minister termed Guwahati and Assam as the highway of India connecting Delhi. Assam Chief Minister Shri Tarun Gogoi and Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, Col. Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore also spoke on the occasion. Union Sports Minister Shri Sarbananda Sonowal and several sportspersons attended the programme.
