BJP today lashed out at SP and BSP for supporting UPA government at the Centre, despite knowing fully well that it was “badly steeped” in corruption. BJP President Rajnath Singh told an election meeting at Mainpuri that SP and BSP accuse each other during elections in Uttar Pradesh, but after reaching Delhi they support the UPA, which was badly steeped in corruption and scams. Singh cited that the CAG had detected corruption worth Rs 5.50 lakh crore in 2G Spectrum, 3G Spectrum, CWG scam and despite this SP and BSP were exending support to UPA government. “Why SP and BSP were supporting UPA government, knowing well that it was badly wrapped in corruption,” the BJP President said, adding “Modi wave was sweeping across the country and on August 15 he would hoist the flag at the Red Fort as the Prime Minister”. He alleged that false propoganda was being spread across the country that if Modi becomes the PM then minorities would not be safe and the country would get divided. “During 12 years of his rule in Gujarat all caste and communities including minorities were united by Modi as the CM and the state saw a new era of unity, progress and development,” he said, and claimed that all communities irrespective of caste, class or religion have united to vote for Modi. He said that the minorities have also extended their support to Modi to unite India. Singh accused the SP of spreading rumours that if Modi comes to power then UP government would be dissolved and said that BJP never believes in dissolving any elected government. At an election meeting at Farukkhabad, he said that this time BJP was not here to seek votes to form the government, “but to make the country.” Attacking Union Minister and Congress candidate from Farukkhabad Lok Sabha seat Salman Khurshid, Singh questioned, “whether any chips factory or small and cottage industries were set up during his regime.” He promised that BJP government would implement agriculture income insurance scheme.
