Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh calls for greater youth participation on National Voters Day

As the nation observes National Voters Day, Shri Rajnath Singh underscored the strength of India’s democracy, describing it as firmly rooted in free, fair and inclusive elections. In a message shared on social media, Raksha Mantri praised the Election Commission of India for its steadfast commitment to protecting the sanctity of the electoral process.

Emphasising the importance of citizen engagement, the Defence Minister urged wider participation in elections, particularly among the youth. He highlighted voting as both a right and a responsibility, calling on citizens to exercise the power of the vote with pride and a sense of duty.

Shri Rajnath Singh’s remarks come as part of broader efforts to encourage democratic participation and reinforce public faith in India’s electoral institutions, which play a central role in sustaining the world’s largest democracy.
