Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh complimented the Indian Army for successfully destroying two Aerial High Speed Unmanned targets at high altitude in Ladakh Sector on 16th July by Akash Prime, which is the upgraded variant of Akash Weapon System. Raksha Mantri further said it is a remarkable achievement for the Indian Army and the DRDO. The Akash Prime Air Defence System is customised to operate in altitude above 4500 meters and has latest upgrades including indigenously developed Radio Frequency seeker.
Calling this milestone particularly for meeting high-altitude operational requirements, Raksha Mantri described the success as a significant boost to India’s Air Defence capabilities.
In a post on ‘X’, RMO said, “India has achieved a significant milestone by successfully destroying 2 Aerial High Speed Unmanned targets at high altitude in Ladakh Sector on 16th July by Akash Prime, which is the upgraded variant of Akash Weapon System for the Indian Army.”
