Raksha Mantri pays tribute to Veer Vinayak Savarkar on Punyatithi, calls his legacy a gorious chapter in India’s freedom struggle

Union Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh paid heartfelt tributes to Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, popularly known as Veer Savarkar, on his punyatithi, remembering him as a symbol of indomitable courage and unwavering dedication to the nation.

In a post shared on social media platform X, the Raksha Mantri said that Savarkar’s “indomitable courage, unparalleled sacrifice, and unwavering dedication to the nation mark a glorious chapter in India’s freedom struggle.” He added that Savarkar’s life and powerful thoughts continue to inspire millions of countrymen.

Veer Savarkar, a prominent figure in India’s independence movement, was known for his strong nationalist ideology and his role in revolutionary activities against British rule.

Remembering his contributions, Raksha Mantri highlighted that the freedom fighter’s legacy remains alive in the hearts of people across the country.

Veer Savarkar passed away on February 26, 1966. His contributions to the freedom movement, writings, and socio-political ideas continue to be discussed and studied across the country.
