Raksha Mantri pays tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on his Jayanti, hails him as the Architect of India’s Unity

On the occasion of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh paid solemn tributes to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, fondly remembered as the ‘Iron Man of India’. In a post on social media, Shri Rajnath Singh lauded Patel ji’s monumental role in uniting the nation after independence and shaping the foundation of India’s unity and integrity.

RM wrote that Sardar Patel “shaped the foundation of India’s national unity and strength” through his vision and unwavering commitment to the country. RM further added that Patel’s ideals continue to inspire every Indian to work towards building a stronger, more cohesive, and self-reliant nation.

Rashtriya Ekta Diwas is observed annually on October 31st, to commemorate Sardar Patel’s Jayanti and to reaffirm the nation’s commitment to unity and integrity. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, India’s first Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister, is credited with the integration of over 560 princely states into the Indian Union — a feat that earned him the title “Iron Man of India”.
