Raksha Mantri congratulates Divya Deshmukh for winning FIDE Women’s Chess World Cup

Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh wishes Divya Deshmukh as she creates history after winning the FIDE Women’s Chess World Cup. Raksha Mantri said it’s a proud and historic moment for all Indians to see both players competing in an all-Indian final.

Divya Deshmukh has also become India’s fourth woman to earn the prestigious Chess Grandmaster title. Deshmukh, at just 19 years of age, became the FIDE Women’s World Cup champion by defeating the veteran Koneru Humpy in the final via the tiebreaks. Wishing both players great success in their future endeavours, RM later said.
