Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh paid respectful tributes to Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar on her Punyatithi, remembering her as an exemplary ruler whose life embodied courage, good governance, public welfare and the preservation of India’s cultural heritage.
In a post on social media, Shri Rajnath Singh highlighted Ahilyabai Holkar’s extraordinary contribution to welfare-oriented administration and her efforts to improve public infrastructure. He noted that she played a significant role in the construction and preservation of temples, ghats, wells, ponds and dharamshalas across the country, including the renovation of the famous Kashi Vishwanath Temple.
The Raksha Mantri also recalled her efforts for the livelihood and welfare of marginalized and tribal communities. He particularly emphasised her progressive initiatives aimed at making women self-reliant and empowered, describing them as far ahead of their time.
