Raksha Mantri Pays Tribute to Scientists on National Technology Day, Recalls Pokhran Success

Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh lauded the contribution of India’s scientists, engineers and researchers on the occasion of National Technology Day, highlighting their role in strengthening the nation’s technological and strategic capabilities.

In a message posted on ‘X’, the Defence Minister expressed gratitude to the scientific community for its dedication, innovation and perseverance, stating that their efforts continue to shape India’s progress across multiple sectors.

Recalling the historic Pokhran-II nuclear tests conducted in 1998, Shri Rajnath Singh paid tribute to the scientists whose work ensured the success of the mission. He also remembered former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee for his “outstanding political courage and statesmanship” during a defining moment in India’s strategic history.

The Raksha Mantri noted that India’s journey from Pokhran to major achievements in space exploration, digital innovation, defence and emerging technologies reflects the country’s growing emphasis on knowledge and self-reliance.

Raksha Mantri further said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is witnessing rapid progress in technology, innovation and indigenous development, helping build a stronger and future-ready nation.
