India’s Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh, has urged citizens to actively participate in the self-enumeration process under Census 2027, highlighting it as a crucial step toward building a “Viksit Bharat.”
In a statement on ‘X’, Raksha Mantri informed that Phase-I of Census 2027, which will cover House Listing and Housing Operations, has already commenced. He emphasized that, for the first time, digital data collection is being given significant importance, enabling citizens to self-enumerate their household details with ease.
Describing the initiative as a progressive move, the Raksha Mantri urged people across the country to take part in the process and ensure timely completion of their enumeration. He noted that accurate and comprehensive data collection is essential for effective governance and policy-making.
The push for digital self-enumeration marks a major shift in India’s census operations, aiming to improve transparency and public participation. Shri Rajnath Singh reiterated that collective involvement in this exercise would lay a strong foundation for the nation’s future development goals under the vision of a “Viksit Bharat”.
