Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh paid heartfelt tribute to eminent nationalist thinker and social reformer Nanaji Deshmukh on his Jayanti on October 11, 2025.
Remembering Deshmukh’s pioneering contributions to rural development and social upliftment, RM hailed him as a “symbol of change” whose life was dedicated to transforming India’s villages into vibrant centers of nation-building.
Nanaji Deshmukh, a stalwart of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and one of the founding members of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), was known for his visionary work in rural transformation, especially through the Deendayal Research Institute in Chitrakoot. He was conferred the Bharat Ratna posthumously in 2019 in recognition of his immense contributions to society.
