Operation Sindoor’ marks a historic chapter in India’s war against terrorism: Rajnath Singh

Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh hailed Operation Sindoor as a new milestone and a historic chapter in India’s security doctrine that has that has redefined the nation’s resolve and response in the fight against terrorism.

He made these remarks while addressing an event in Patna. Reminding the audience of the pre-2014 era marked by frequent terror attacks, Raksha Mantri condemned the attempts by a few opposition parties to politicize the success of the Indian Armed Forces. “Operation Sindoor has drawn a new boundary lines. The morale of our forces is high and the nation must stand united behind them,” he said.

Praising Nitish Kumar for reshaping Bihar’s governance, Raksha Mantri said Nitish’s CM tenure marked the beginning of a new political chapter in the state. RM praised him for restoring law and order in the state and public confidence through two decades of sustained progress. RM also credited the NDA led government’s efforts since 2005 for scripting a turnaround. “Where Bihar was once described as a ‘basket case,’ it is now being cited by global institutions like The Economist and Nobel Laureates as an example of revival,” he said.

He further added that Bihar is now positioned to become a hub of industry and IT after the inauguration of a new ‘Software Technology Parks of India’ facility in Darbhanga in July.

Raksha Mantri also underlined the massive financial support from the central government, noting that between 2014 and 2024, over ₹9 lakh crore was allocated to Bihar, which was four times more than during the previous decade. From railway and digital infrastructure to agriculture and welfare, Bihar is rapidly advancing on every front, RM further said.

RM highlighted that working with Cooperative Federalism under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Central Government has left no stone unturned in the development of Bihar. He said that till the year 2015, Bihar’s GSDP was about 56 billion dollars, which has increased to 116 billion dollars in 2025.

As Bihar gears up for its upcoming Assembly Elections, Rajnath Singh appealed to the people of Bihar to once again place their trust in progress, peace and responsible governance. RM highlighted that the Central Election Commission has begun full-fledged preparations for the state elections through a Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list.

During his closing address, the Raksha Mantri appealed directly to the people of Bihar to guard the progress they’ve achieved over the past two decades and to remain vigilant against divisive politics in the state.
